Job Summary

The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is seeking a Research Scientist to join its Thermographic Methods department in Berlin-Adlershof. This role focuses on the scientific execution of the "InInspekt" research project, which involves robot-based multi-sensor internal inspection of rotor blades. Day-to-day tasks include scientifically conceiving and defining measurement strategies for two-stage thermographic inspection (passive and active), integrating suitable hardware (thermographic camera, heat source) into the robotic system, and planning and conducting experimental investigations on rotor blade sections. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science field, excellent practical programming skills (preferably Python or Matlab) for signal and image processing, and experience in applied research projects, ideally involving non-destructive testing of wind energy systems or composite materials. This fixed-term contract until November 2027 offers an attractive, modern work environment and the chance to contribute to national and international research networks.
