Job Summary

The Aufsichts- und Dienstleistungsdirektion (ADD) is seeking an experienced IT Section Manager to lead the IT, Technical Data Processing, and Quality Assurance areas at the Foreign Armed Forces Payroll Office (LaS) in Kaiserslautern. This permanent, full-time position involves leading a team of 11 employees, managing IT projects like the ongoing SAP H4S4 Transformation, and overseeing the IT infrastructure, including planning and procurement. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the Local National Time & Attendance Program (LNTAP), ensuring system functionality and further development. Key qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or equivalent administrative IT qualification, coupled with at least three years of relevant professional experience and deep knowledge across programming, networking, server administration, virtualization, IT security, and SAP Basis administration. This role offers a stable, public sector career path and the chance to lead critical IT functions supporting NATO and stationed forces civilian personnel.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification from the third entry-level administrative IT career path (e.g., Administration and Finance, formerly higher non-technical service) in municipal, state, or federal administration.

Experience

  • Minimum three years of practical professional experience in the relevant IT field
  • Experience in employee leadership (desirable)
  • Professional experience in public administration, ideally in IT, budgeting, and procurement (desirable)
