Job Summary

The City of Stuttgart is seeking an experienced Windows System Administrator to join the Technical Infrastructure and Security department, focusing on the deployment and operation of Windows Server systems. This role is crucial for maintaining the central IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, central backup solutions, and MS SQL databases. Day-to-day responsibilities involve acting as a process owner for IT Service Management processes in the Windows Server environment, leading operational and infrastructure projects, and defining city-wide standards for Windows Server operating systems. The specialist will be responsible for the automated provisioning, packaging, and maintenance of Windows Server 2022/2025 systems on both virtual and physical hardware, ensuring robust IT security hardening measures are implemented. Ideal candidates must possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent long-term professional IT experience, coupled with deep practical knowledge of Windows Server administration, virtualization techniques (VMware, Proxmox), and PowerShell scripting.
