Job Summary

This role offers an innovative Research Scientist the opportunity to join Huawei’s cutting-edge Research Center in Zurich, focusing on next-generation computer vision and AI. The primary focus is driving breakthroughs in 3D modeling, depth estimation, and 3D foundation models (like NeRFs and 3D Gaussian Splatting). Day-to-day work involves designing and developing high-quality depth estimation algorithms from various inputs, building robust 3D scene reconstruction systems, and creating efficient, compact models suitable for deployment on edge and mobile devices. A key requirement is a PhD or MS with a strong research background and publication record in top-tier venues (CVPR, ICCV). This position is highly attractive due to its high impact, contributing research that powers future Huawei products globally in mobile, XR, and robotics, alongside collaboration with world-class, diverse scientists in a competitive Zurich environment.

PhD or MS with research experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Graphics, or related fields.

Experience

  • Proven experience in 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, or depth estimation.
  • Professional experience researching and adapting 3D foundation models and pretraining techniques.
  • Experience creating efficient model designs suitable for edge/mobile deployment.
  • Strong publication record in top-tier computer vision venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, etc.).
  • Experience with real-time or on-device inference is a plus.
