Job Summary

Join Huawei's multidisciplinary research team in Zurich as a Research Scientist focusing on AI for Wearables. This role sits at the intersection of AI, signal processing, and human-computer interaction (HCI), aiming to shape the next generation of intelligent wearable technologies like smartwatches, earbuds, and XR glasses. Day-to-day responsibilities involve conducting cutting-edge research in micro hand gesture recognition using multimodal wearable signals (e.g., IMU, EMG, PPG) and developing innovative algorithms for continuous health monitoring, including stress detection and physiological state estimation. You will design novel interaction paradigms combining gesture sensing with contextual AI. Success requires a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in a relevant engineering or computer science field, a strong background in Machine Learning, Signal Processing, and experience with wearable sensing systems. Experience

  • Experience with wearable sensing systems, including IMU, EMG, PPG, ECG, or other biosignals.
  • Solid understanding of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or activity recognition principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn research into impactful prototypes or an excellent publication record in top-tier journals and conferences (e.g., UIST, NeurIPS).
