Job Summary

This role involves leading the expansion of municipal Geoinformation Systems (GIS) and establishing a central Geodata Infrastructure (GDI) for the city administration. The professional will serve as the project lead for all central GIS measures across various departments, evaluating technologies, and providing system administration for application software and the Geodata Portal. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing and preparing geodata, supporting departments in data provision, and participating in inter-departmental working groups focused on graphical data processing. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Surveying, Geoinformatics, Geography, or Informatics, coupled with expertise in SQL-based database development and XML data modeling. This position offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to the digitalization of a major city administration, working within a supportive team environment with family-friendly policies, though it is initially a fixed-term contract until June 2027.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Surveying, Geoinformatics, Geography, Informatics, or a comparable field related to Geoinformation Systems and Geodata Management.

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing and querying object-relational databases using SQL
  • Professional experience in data modeling based on XML
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience (required if educational qualification is comparable, but not a degree)
