Job Summary
This role involves independent, methods-oriented research focusing on AI-supported data analysis and acquisition within the field of Geosensor Systems at TU Dresden. The successful candidate will conceptualize, develop, and implement Machine Learning methods, specifically training and validating neural networks (e.g., for detection and segmentation), to automatically capture and quantify complex infrastructure elements. A core responsibility is utilizing and fusing heterogeneous, large-format image datasets, such as aerial and street images, and developing photogrammetric methods for precise integration of these multi-perspective images. The position requires strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and expertise in automatic processing of image and 3D data. This is a full-time, fixed-term project position until November 2028, offering a dynamic research environment at one of Germany's top universities.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Geoinformatics, Geodesy, Informatics, or comparable scientific field
Experience
- Experience with the automatic processing of image and 3D data (especially Photogrammetry)
- Good knowledge of data analysis algorithms with neural networks
- Experience regarding implementation for image processing (desired)
