Job Summary

This research position, suitable for a Doctoral Candidate or Postdoctoral Researcher, is based at the renowned Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Berlin, focusing on developing and characterizing high-performance anti-reflection structures on silicon for the Terahertz spectral range. Day-to-day responsibilities involve conducting and evaluating transmission and reflection measurements using a Fourier-Transform Spectrometer, developing a dedicated setup for angle-resolved measurements, and performing complex semi-analytical modeling and simulations of the anti-reflection structures. The role also requires examining samples using laser-scanning microscopy in a cleanroom environment and presenting research findings through publications. Successful candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering, possess fundamental knowledge of electromagnetic radiation physics, strong mathematical modeling capabilities, and experience in programming (ideally Python or LabVIEW) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to world-leading metrology standards in an international research setting.
