Job Summary

This crucial role involves taking responsibility for the development and implementation of customs principles and objectives, including making specialized decisions on technical customs matters. The Senior Customs Specialist will build, maintain, and enhance the internal control program (ICP) for customs compliance, ensuring adherence to EU and national legal changes by adapting internal policies and processes accordingly. Key daily tasks include representing the company before various customs authorities (e.g., General Customs Directorate), leading authorization management (including the Authorized Economic Operator - AEO status), and managing complex customs reporting (e.g., CBAM, active refinement). The position requires extensive professional experience in customs management, ideally within an international industrial setting, coupled with deep expertise in foreign trade and customs law. Success in this role demands strong analytical skills, a proactive, solution-oriented approach, and business-fluent proficiency in both German and English.
