Job Summary

This Doctoral Researcher position is offered within the DFG-funded Research Training Group (GRK 2948) on “Mixed Ionic-Electronic Transport,” an interdisciplinary program spanning Heidelberg University and the University of Stuttgart. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research focused on understanding ion-electron interactions in organic, hybrid, and nanoscale materials to develop novel functionalities for sensors, soft actuators, and bioelectronics. Day-to-day activities involve utilizing advanced modern techniques, including in-situ and time-resolved spectroscopies/microscopies, rheological measurements, and potentially scientific modeling from the atomistic to macroscale. Candidates must hold a very good Master’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials sciences, or a related field, and possess excellent written and verbal English skills. This temporary, 42-month position (75% TVL-E13) provides a structured doctoral pathway, requiring commitment to additional courses, events, and collaborations within an international research environment.
