Job Summary

This role involves managing and supporting a new research laboratory at the Center for Molecular Biology Heidelberg (ZMBH), focusing on Synthetic Microbiology and Synthetic Genomics. The manager will be instrumental in establishing the lab's infrastructure, including creating databases for materials (strains, plasmids), procuring supplies, and developing standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for advanced laboratory automation equipment, such as acoustic nanoliter dispensers and Nanopore sequencers. A key component of the job is providing bioinformatic and computational support to the research team and managing international projects, including organizing meetings and reporting to funding bodies. Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree in a technical field like engineering or bioinformatics, excellent English communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach. Required Skills

Education

Undergraduate degree in a technical field (Engineering or Bioinformatics) or comparable skills and experience; First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
