Job Summary
This Research Associate position is an exciting opportunity within the Faculty of Mechanical, Process, and Energy Engineering, focusing on cutting-edge research in ultrasound-based monitoring for hyperthermia treatments. The role involves the scientific exploration and advancement of an innovative ultrasound measurement method, specifically for non-invasive monitoring of temperature distributions and tissue changes during hyperthermia and thermal ablation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and optimizing signal processing algorithms, designing tissue phantoms, conducting experiments, and collaborating with clinical partners. This position offers the chance to contribute to a DFG-funded project with high potential for future applications in medical diagnostics, particularly in quantitative ultrasound and tissue characterization.
Required Skills
Education
University Diploma or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field with above-average results.
Experience
- Strong interest in experimental research, signal processing, and data analysis
- Prior knowledge in Acoustics/Ultrasound and Signal Processing is beneficial
- Prior knowledge in Simulation and Modeling is beneficial
- Prior knowledge in conducting experiments is beneficial

- Temporary position until October 31, 2027 (extension possible subject to funding approval). Must meet employment requirements for fixed-term contracts under WissZeitVG. Disabled persons will be given preferential consideration if equally qualified.
