This Senior Research Engineer role focuses on advancing the FAMES pilot line project, specifically developing self-biased circulators using ferrite materials within the Magnetic Microsystems and Technologies (MMT) team. The successful candidate will take ownership of complex technical work, contributing expertise in cleanroom microfabrication and magnetism. Day-to-day tasks involve developing and characterizing dielectric and magnetic layers via additive manufacturing, followed by detailed microfabrication processes like lithography, etching, sputtering, and evaporation. The role requires extensive material, electrical, RF, and magnetic characterization (SEM, AFM, XRD, VSM, FMR), rigorous data analysis, and documentation. The engineer will also contribute to project management, funding acquisition, scientific publications, and dissemination, making this an attractive role for a motivated professional seeking high-impact research in advanced microfabrication technologies.

Required Skills

Education

PhD in a related field focusing on microfabrication and magnetism, or MSc with equivalent relevant work experience

Experience
