Job Summary

This role is for a motivated Lithography R&D Process Engineer to join the SAL MicroFab team, taking on challenging responsibilities with significant decision-making scope. The primary focus is the development, optimization, and maintenance of stable lithography processes critical for diverse R&D flows. Day-to-day tasks involve establishing repeatable process baselines, maintaining tight control using Statistical Process Control (SPC), and ensuring high uptime and consistency of lithography and metrology tools. The position requires a Master's degree in Physics, Materials Science, or a related engineering field, and a minimum of three years of experience as a process engineer in a semiconductor fabrication environment. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience with relevant tools and proven knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (CIP, Lean). This position offers state-of-the-art facilities and a dynamic research setting in Villach, Austria.

Education

Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Bachelor's degree with equivalent relevant experience accepted)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a lithography process engineer in an industrial or applied research semiconductor FAB (5+ years preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with lithography process and metrology tools
  • Proven experience with process control methodologies including SPC, Problem Solving, CIP, and Lean
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a research-driven environment supporting multiple stakeholders
