Job Summary
This role seeks a highly motivated Research Associate and PhD Candidate to join the Chair of Systems Security at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, focusing on innovative solutions for the security of future 6G mobile communication systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding complex simulation models for mobile networks, including end devices and network topologies. A core component of the work involves conducting in-depth security analyses of protocol layers (L2/L3) and network infrastructure to identify and categorize attack vectors. Furthermore, the role requires defining and implementing robust security concepts, utilizing AI-based optimization mechanisms for security-oriented network planning, and actively participating in the scientific publication and presentation of research findings at international conferences. This position, integrated into the prestigious CASA Cluster of Excellence, requires an excellent Master's degree in a relevant field such as IT Security or Computer Science, along with proficiency in English.

Experience
- Professional experience in developing and extending simulation models for mobile networks (including end devices and base stations)
- Experience conducting security analyses of network protocols (L2/L3) and infrastructure

- Experience with scientific publication and presentation at conferences and workshops
