Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Research Scientist role offers a unique opportunity to join the interdisciplinary research team at the MPC, focusing on protein-analytical studies of biological systems using advanced mass spectrometry (MS) and multidimensional separation methods. The core responsibilities include expanding group expertise in Metabolomics and Lipidomics, utilizing state-of-the-art infrastructure including various high-end Orbitrap and timsTOF mass spectrometers. Day-to-day tasks involve hands-on research, advanced data analysis, and the critical responsibility of writing grant applications and peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching and student supervision. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a completed doctorate and a proven publication record, who is keen to work independently, take responsibility, and potentially establish their own research area focusing on the effects of stress on biological systems within a collaborative and dynamic research environment.

Required Skills

Education

Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field

Experience

  • Prior experience in Metabolomics and Lipidomics
  • Professional experience utilizing Mass Spectrometry (MS) and HPLC
  • Demonstrated experience in scientific data analysis
  • Proven ability to publish peer-reviewed scientific papers
  • Experience in teaching and supervision of students
