Research Associate in Neuronal Superposition and AI | Wissenschaftliche*n Mitarbeiter*in (m/w/d) im Projekt "Neuronale Superposition der Fruchtfliege – Wa
Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Job Summary
This role is for a Research Associate within the interdisciplinary project "Neuronal Superposition of the Fruit Fly," focusing on bridging Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience, and Artificial Intelligence. The core objective is to translate biological principles of neuronal development, specifically axonal growth and self-organized wiring in the Drosophila visual system, into electrical circuit models and machine learning frameworks. The successful candidate will independently develop mathematical and electrical models for growth-based neuronal wiring, perform simulations and analyses of self-organizing networks, and integrate biological measurement data for validation. Key responsibilities also include building a real-time "Digital Twin" environment for visualization and collaborating closely with bioscience and electrical engineering partners. The role requires presenting findings at international conferences and publishing scientific results. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) and possess deep knowledge in areas like circuit theory, numerical simulation, or computational neuroscience. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of energy-efficient, robust, and self-organizing AI systems based on biological learning principles.
