Job Summary

This permanent position as an Electrical or Mechatronics Engineer involves serving as a technical specialist within the Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV). The core responsibility is the modernization and replacement of critical electrical, control, measurement, and automation systems across essential remote-controlled waterway facilities, including locks, pumping stations, and dams. Day-to-day work involves comprehensive project management, starting with preliminary planning, drafting technical concepts, and preparing detailed tender documents compliant with VOB, VgV, or UVgO public procurement regulations. You will manage contract execution, including supplementary claims, oversee site monitoring to ensure professional and contractual compliance, and ultimately conduct the final commissioning and acceptance of the systems. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or FH Diploma in the relevant engineering field, strong German language proficiency (C1), and the ability to work independently and goal-oriented on complex technical realization projects, often involving existing infrastructure.
