Job Summary

This specialist role supports cutting-edge research in applied physics, focusing on semiconductor and quantum electronics at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. The core responsibility involves the maintenance, repair, and independent operation of complex research facilities, particularly two heavy-ion accelerators used for semiconductor implantation. A significant part of the job includes the autonomous development, construction, and testing of sophisticated custom electronic circuits, covering both analog and digital domains, often integrating microcontrollers. Furthermore, the specialist contributes directly to scientific experiments, manages technical procurement of electronic components, and serves as the official Radiation Protection Officer. Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant engineering discipline, multi-year professional experience, and fluent proficiency in both German and English (C2/C1 level).
