Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Institute for Applied Microelectronics and Data for the DFG-funded 'MuCoRe' project. This role focuses on researching, conceiving, and developing innovative, high-performance integrated systems by integrating analog Memristor technology (RRAM) with reconfigurable digital technology. Key responsibilities include designing RRAM-based FPGA components like LUTs and Interconnects, developing a complete Multi-Context FPGA design using open-source toolchains, evaluating hardware performance, and developing necessary verification tools. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, possesses a deep understanding of digital logic, and has very good English proficiency. This fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity for scientific qualification (Doctorate/PhD) and collaboration within the leading DFG SPP 2262 'MemrisTec' network.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma, or comparable) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in research and development of novel logic circuits
  • Practical experience in designing digital circuits and mapping them onto FPGAs (Desirable)
  • Experience with scientific project work and scientific publishing (Desirable)
  • Experience using toolchains for synthesis and implementation of digital circuits (Desirable)
