Job Summary

This senior leadership role involves heading the Organizational Development Department for the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic organizational design, leading complex change management processes, and optimizing internal structures and processes across the DWD. Key daily activities include developing and implementing DWD-wide steering models and management systems (including Project, Risk, and Process Management), advising senior leadership, and integrating agile and innovative techniques, particularly related to digitalization and process management. Candidates must hold a relevant Master's degree, ideally in Economics or Business Administration, and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, strategic competence, and proven experience in project steering. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to significantly influence the future organizational strategy of a major public authority.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent Uni-Diplom) in Economics, Business Administration, or a field qualifying for the higher non-technical or technical administrative service

Experience

  • More than 6 months of continuous experience in steering defined projects (post-Master's degree)
  • Professional experience in organizational development (preferably in public administration)
  • Experience with digital transformation processes
  • Experience with contemporary steering models and management systems (e.g., agile working methods)
