Job Summary

This role is for a Software Engineer to join enercity, a leading German energy provider, focusing on developing data-driven applications crucial for municipal heat planning and the transformation of thermal networks toward CO₂ neutrality. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the engineer will be responsible for the entire application lifecycle, from architecture and prototyping to productive deployment and operation in a cloud environment. Key daily tasks include integrating diverse internal and external data sources into relational databases, ensuring data quality and plausibility, and developing sophisticated tools for analysis and visualization, specifically involving Geodata and GIS systems. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a related field, possesses fundamental knowledge of professional software development, strong proficiency in Python, experience with relational databases, and practical skills in modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, or comparable qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience applying modern professional software development methods.
  • Experience with relational databases, including schema design, optimization, and data models.
  • Practical experience in DevOps, specifically with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Deployments.
  • Experience or strong interest in processing Geodata, including GIS databases.
  • Ideally, competence in frontend development with modern Javascript frameworks.
