Job Summary

This role requires a dedicated professional to bring technical expertise to the digital infrastructure of the Recklinghausen District Administration. As part of the Infrastructure & Software team, you will be responsible for the secure operation and continuous development of communication and network technology, spanning from classic telecommunication systems to modern IP-based network structures. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and maintaining active network components (Cisco, Extreme Networks) and central firewall systems (Palo Alto, Fortinet) to ensure high availability and performance. You will also manage hybrid telecommunication solutions (VoIP/SIP, Analog, Digital) and administer core network services like DNS, DHCP, VPN, and MFA for secure external access. The position demands fundamental knowledge of Layer 2/3 network technology, experience with TK systems, and familiarity with implementing network security measures such as segmentation and 802.1x. This is a full-time, permanent position offering flexible working hours and mobile work options.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in IT (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration, IT System Electronics Technician) or a comparable qualification, OR a completed university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration, support, or maintenance of IT systems
  • Experience operating and configuring telecommunication systems (VoIP/SIP, hybrid)
  • Proficient handling of network services (DHCP, DNS, VPN, IP address management) and firewall systems
