Job Summary

This role involves the strategic development and implementation of fiber optic expansion plans for the FTTx network within the Vienna municipal utilities group. The System Technician will be responsible for strategic network planning, covering both proprietary and cooperative FTTx network expansion efforts. A key component of the role is data-driven analysis, including market and demand assessments, cost calculations, and the use of tool- and AI-supported analyses to determine expansion priorities. The professional will also coordinate and manage internal and external planning service providers and construction partners. Ideal candidates possess a degree in Telecommunications, Network Technology, or Electrical Engineering, coupled with significant experience in planning fiber optic networks (FTTH/FTTB), knowledge of the Austrian telecom market, and proficiency in GIS systems and Data Analytics, including AI applications.
