Job Summary

This role is ideal for a highly motivated Working Student passionate about leveraging data to drive logistical efficiency. Based in Dortmund, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights for the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) departments. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and analyzing data using advanced Excel functions (Pivot, Power Query), developing and optimizing complex SQL queries for key performance indicators (KPIs), and building and maintaining critical reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, SSRS, and JasperReports. You will also conduct ad-hoc analyses, derive concrete recommendations for action, and automate recurring evaluations, potentially utilizing Python. The ideal candidate is an enrolled student in Data Science, IT, or Logistics, possessing advanced Excel and SQL skills, along with prior experience in BI reporting. The position offers a steep learning curve, flexible working hours, mobile work options, and the chance to apply theoretical knowledge practically within a supportive and dynamic team environment.

Required Skills

Education

Enrolled student status required in fields such as (Business) Informatics, Data Science, Business Administration, or Logistics.

Experience

  • Professional experience developing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience in building and maintaining reports and dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, SSRS)
  • Advanced user knowledge in Microsoft Excel (Pivot, Power Query/Power Pivot)
  • Experience with Oracle or BigQuery (desirable)
