Job Summary

The Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSA) Elbe-Nordsee is seeking an experienced leader to head their Information Technology Department. This critical role involves managing and guiding IT staff, coordinating complex IT projects, and overseeing system administration, operation, and maintenance across a vital maritime infrastructure area. The Head of IT will be responsible for developing and implementing security and data protection concepts, leading training initiatives on information security, and serving as the primary coordinator for IT security and data protection matters within the administration. This position is central to the digitalization and efficiency enhancement of maritime infrastructure, requiring a blend of strategic leadership, technical expertise in networking and server technologies, and practical project implementation skills. The role offers stability within the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration, a major federal employer, and is based in Cuxhaven, Hamburg, or Tönning.
