Job Summary

This is a key, indefinite position within the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) in Hannover, focused on ensuring the safety and compliance of critical railway infrastructure. The Engineer/Case Worker will be responsible for the technical supervision, acceptance, and maintenance monitoring of railway Signaling, Safety, and Electrical (STE) systems. Daily duties involve reviewing complex implementation plans, conducting mandatory field inspections (Außendienst), overseeing operational safety during construction phases, and managing formal authorization procedures (EIGV) for subsystems like Control-Command and Signalling (CCS) and Energy. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent FH-Diploma) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or Computer Science. Success requires comprehensive professional knowledge of STE systems, railway legislation, and strong administrative IT skills to manage complex government procedures. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (FH-Diploma/Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable fields, or eligibility for the higher technical service in the Federal Administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience and comprehensive knowledge in the construction supervision of complex construction measures related to STE systems
  • Professional experience and comprehensive knowledge in the entire scope of Section 3 tasks (Supervision and Authorization)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of STE systems
  • Very good knowledge of railway laws and administrative regulations, particularly concerning authorization and supervisory procedures
