Job Summary

This position invites a skilled Research Associate to join the newly established musculoskeletal and biomechanical research center at Jena University Hospital, focusing on translational orthopedic research. The core mission involves independently developing and executing scientific sub-projects within the motion analysis group, particularly contributing to the innovative SensoReha project. This initiative aims to create a personalized, app- and sensor-supported home rehabilitation platform for patients recovering from hip replacement surgery. Day-to-day responsibilities include presenting research findings at international congresses, ensuring rigorous data management and quality assurance, and mentoring junior staff, including laboratory assistants, interns, and doctoral candidates. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a relevant field like Movement Science or Biomechanics and possess professional experience in the field. Success requires a systematic, solution-oriented approach and fluent proficiency (C1 level) in both German and English. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (above average performance) in Movement Sciences, Sports Sciences, Engineering (specialization in Biomechanics), or comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in motion analysis and/or orthopedic biomechanics
  • Experience managing patient contact
  • Experience in systematic task prioritization and execution
  • Experience supervising laboratory assistants, interns, and doctoral candidates
