Job Summary
This position offers a motivated individual the opportunity to join the Research Training Group 2861 “Planar Carbon Lattices” at TUD Dresden University of Technology, a leading research institution in Germany. The role focuses on developing advanced computational tools for predicting satellite features in XPS spectra of 2D framework materials, specifically extending the GW+C approach within the FHI-aims software package. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research, contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations with experimental partners, and work towards obtaining a PhD. Required Skills
Education
Master of Science (M.Sc.) or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Sciences, with specialization in Theoretical Chemistry/Physics or Condensed-Matter Physics. Excellent academic performance, including publications or awards from Master's thesis.
Experience
- Strong interest in electronic-structure theory and code development

- The position is for 75% of full-time weekly hours and is limited until March 31, 2028, with the option of extension to a total of 42 months, aiming at obtaining further academic qualification (usually PhD).
