Job Summary

This Scientific Researcher role is focused on enhancing data quality and modeling capabilities within the Land Use, Land-Use Change, and Forestry (LULUCF) sector's Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory. Day-to-day tasks involve developing a comprehensive data strategy for LULUCF, improving inventory granularity, and accurately modeling the effects of climate protection measures under the Natural Climate Protection Action Program (ANK). You will also be responsible for verifying area-based calculations in the GHG inventory using alternative methods. Key qualifications include a Master's degree in a relevant technical or natural science discipline, such as Geoinformatics or Geoecology, along with demonstrated experience handling large statistical and remote sensing datasets. Strong analytical skills, advanced IT knowledge (including databases and programming like Python), and fluency in both German and English are mandatory.
