Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Technician for the Air Monitoring Network, focusing on the conceptual design, maintenance, further development, and quality assurance of procedures for measuring aerosols (e.g., UFP, eBC) and gases (e.g., ammonia). The technician will be responsible for the independent execution of chemical-physical measurements, including the control, calibration, and maintenance of all measuring equipment at the station. A significant part of the job involves operating and organizing the air monitoring container in Berlin-Mitte (approx. 20% of time) and providing technical support for the entire air monitoring network, requiring a high degree of travel for maintenance, repair, and calibration tasks. Candidates must have a certified technical education in environmental protection technology, physics technology, electrical engineering, or measurement and control technology, coupled with strong knowledge of measurement and control technology, trace analytics, and proficiency in German and English.

Required Skills

Education

Certified Technician (State-Certified) in Environmental Protection Technology, Physics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Measurement and Control Technology; alternatively, completed vocational training in the electrical engineering or laboratory technology field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemical-physical measurements
  • Experience with operation and organization of technical facilities (e.g., air monitoring container)
  • Experience in quality assurance and quality management of aerosol measurements
  • High willingness to travel for technical support and maintenance
