Job Summary

This position at the Fraunhofer IEE in Kassel involves operating, evaluating, and evolving the institute's core IT infrastructure, directly supporting research efforts aimed at the energy transition. The administrator will be responsible for implementing complex network and server architectures, including the administration and configuration of LAN/WLAN environments, and significantly expanding the existing security architecture, particularly Network Access Control (NAC). Daily tasks include configuring and maintaining firewalls (Palo Alto, Barracuda), supporting the Windows and Linux server landscape, and providing IT consultation to research departments. A successful candidate must possess a completed IT qualification and several years of relevant professional experience, coupled with deep knowledge of network technologies (LAN, WAN, Firewall).
