Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary team focused on advancing electrochemical hydrogen production and electrolyser recycling, contributing directly to the energy transition. The associate will be responsible for independently planning, executing, and evaluating experiments using industrial electrochemical cell systems, with a specific focus on next-generation hydrogen electrolysers. Key responsibilities include setting up and operating test systems, crafting and recycling membrane electrode assemblies, and rigorous data analysis. The ideal candidate is an experienced chemist or process engineer with a strong background in electrochemical systems, practical knowledge of zero-gap flow cell setups, and familiarity with advanced analytical techniques. Strong scientific communication skills in English are essential for documenting results and collaborating effectively within the team. This fixed-term, part-time position also offers the valuable opportunity for scientific qualification, such as pursuing a PhD.

Required Skills

Education

MSc. in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or comparable degrees

Experience

  • Professional experience as a chemist or process engineer with a strong background in electrochemical systems
  • Practical knowledge of zero-gap flow cell setups and their operation for electrolysis research
  • Experience in independently designing, conducting, and troubleshooting experiments
