Job Summary

This role involves the independent installation, configuration, and administration of server operating systems (Microsoft and Unix-based), virtual environments (VMWare), and storage systems (SAN/NAS) within the data center of the Ruhrbahn GmbH, a major public transport company in the Ruhr area. Key responsibilities include planning and ensuring robust backup management, performing detailed error analysis and troubleshooting, and administering the domain architecture. The administrator will also coordinate IT service providers, manage client and asset inventories, and contribute to hardware procurement. Successful candidates must possess a degree in Computer Science or a relevant IT technical qualification, coupled with fundamental knowledge of Microsoft products, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage/backup management (Veeam, NetApp).
