Job Summary

This specialized laboratory role, initially offered on a one-year contract, focuses on the establishment, planning, and execution of complex scientific methodologies within Environmental Medicine and Integrative Health. The Technical Assistant will primarily manage molecular biological techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, qPCR, and NGS Library Preparation, alongside extensive biomaterial processing from various studies (blood, skin swabs, biopsies). Key responsibilities also encompass planning and performing immunological methods, such as flow cytometry and ELISA, as well as microbiological tasks like cultivating aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Furthermore, the assistant will maintain cell culture systems, specifically keratinocytes, and handle crucial administrative duties including lab organization, documentation, ordering, and instructing junior staff. Success requires several years of experience across these disciplines, specialized certifications in Mass Spectrometry, GCP, and IATA, and proficiency with specific laboratory software, making this a demanding yet highly rewarding position within an international team.
