Job Summary

This is a critical, fixed-term Research Scientist position at the Institute of Physics, University of Greifswald, specifically structured to support the candidate's qualification for Habilitation (the second phase of academic qualification). The primary responsibility involves providing scientific services in research and teaching, focusing heavily on the numerical accompaniment and modeling of dynamics within magnetized plasmas, including both high-temperature fusion experiments (Tokamaks and Stellarators) and low-temperature laboratory plasmas. Day-to-day duties include active participation in teaching, supervising students and guests, contributing to grant proposal writing, and publishing research findings. Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, or a comparable field, coupled with excellent knowledge of plasma physics and extensive experience in plasma simulation and High-Performance Computing (HPC). Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent Diploma) in Physics, Computer Science, or a comparable field, followed by a Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, or a comparable research field.
