Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher position in Analytical Biochemistry at the University of Greifswald focuses on cutting-edge research involving the structural analysis of gene-regulatory protein-nucleic acid complexes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of structural investigation, including cloning and producing recombinant proteins (E. coli) and RNA via in vitro transcription. Core daily tasks involve the independent execution and analysis of multi-dimensional solution NMR measurements, as well as determining protein structures using advanced techniques like X-ray crystallography, small-angle scattering, and molecular modeling. A key requirement is a completed PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Biophysics, coupled with deep expertise in preparing high-quality protein and RNA samples for structural studies. The role demands excellent written and spoken English, strong self-reliance, and proven experience, demonstrated through publications, in protein structure determination. This position offers the opportunity to establish and maintain national and international interdisciplinary collaborations, contributing significantly to high-impact scientific publications and coordinating laboratory tasks related to analytical equipment.
