Job Summary

This is a part-time (65%, 26 hours/week), fixed-term position lasting up to three years, starting January 1, 2026, at the Institute for Medical Epidemiology, Biometry and Informatics (IMEBI) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary, international team focused on advancing the research field of epidemiological modeling of infectious diseases. Daily tasks include conducting scientific research in this area, drafting third-party funding applications, managing data integration throughout the project, and publishing study results. The role also involves academic duties, such as participating in teaching and supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses. Candidates must hold a completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Bioinformatics or a related field, possess experience with programming languages like Python or R, and demonstrate strong scientific creativity and team-working ability. This position offers an excellent environment for research and continuing education, with the explicit opportunity to pursue a doctorate (PhD).
