Job Summary

The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a part-time Research Associate (25%) for a fixed-term contract focusing on translational oncology within the Department of Visceral, Vascular, and Endocrine Surgery. This role is dedicated to executing a scientific research project investigating the role of ER stress and perineural invasion in pancreatic carcinoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying and developing co-culture models involving tumor cells, nerve cells, and Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts (CAFs) to analyze tumor-stroma interaction. Key responsibilities include conducting functional experiments using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, performing molecular validation techniques like Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blotting, and FACS analysis, and actively publishing research findings.
