Job Summary

This DevOps Engineer role is critical for ensuring the digital future capability and IT security of Germany, working as the primary digitization partner for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The successful candidate will join the Application Lifecycle Management Competence Center, focusing on maintaining and evolving an agile DevOps culture. Day-to-day responsibilities include the conception, operation, and optimization of development and lab environments, along with the administration of virtual and physical servers, container platforms, and the core DevOps toolchain (GitLab, TFS, Azure DevOps). Key requirements include excellent Linux administration expertise, strong knowledge of Infrastructure-As-Code (e.g., Ansible), and proficiency in virtualization, container, and orchestration technologies (VMWare, Docker, K8s). This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to national security by modernizing one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, requiring a strong hands-on mentality and affinity for agile processes.
