Job Summary

This role is critical for ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of IT services supporting personnel management processes within the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The Application Expert acts as the central internal and external point of contact for application management, focusing heavily on 2nd-Level Support and application evolution. Day-to-day tasks involve planning and coordinating application management activities, overseeing Incident and Problem Management, and steering software development processes. You will be responsible for requirements management, creating transparent release plans, conducting product updates, and managing application monitoring and patching. Key qualifications include a relevant IT or Engineering degree combined with at least four years of professional experience in Application Management, strong expertise in Service Management, and knowledge of the ITIL framework. The ideal candidate possesses fluent German skills and the reliability necessary to manage complex IT infrastructure projects contributing directly to Germany's security and digitalization efforts.
