Job Summary

This role involves the administration and operation of the core server and storage infrastructure at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, focusing heavily on Linux-based systems. Key responsibilities include managing complex file systems like GPFS (IBM Spectrum Scale) and XFS, operating clustered Samba and Ganesha NFS services, and maintaining SUSE Linux servers and Dell/Lenovo hardware, including RAID systems. The administrator will also implement and monitor IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) for comprehensive backup and archiving, manage licenses (FlexLm) and certificates, and develop automation scripts using tools like Perl, Bash, Python, and Ansible to optimize processes.
