Job Summary

This position is for a highly motivated PhD student focusing on Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Systems Immunology within the Department of Internal Medicine I at the University Hospital Freiburg. The core research involves investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune escape in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The successful candidate will analyze and integrate large-scale single-cell and spatial datasets (including CITE-seq, HDcyto, Spatial Transcriptomics, and CODEX) using advanced bioinformatic methods, such as probabilistic and Deep Learning models. Daily tasks include identifying cell communication networks and transcriptional programs that promote immune evasion, collaborating with experimental partners for biological validation, and ultimately completing a scientific dissertation in Computational Immunology.
