Job Summary

The Institute for Clinical Pathology at the University Hospital Freiburg is seeking a highly motivated Scientific Doctoral Researcher to join the interdisciplinary MatriPath-Lab. This role focuses on investigating the composition and function of the Tumor Microenvironment (TME) in clear cell renal cell carcinoma, specifically examining the reciprocal interaction between the extracellular matrix and TME cells within the framework of SFB 1453. Day-to-day activities will involve employing a complementary portfolio of methods, including primary cell isolation, multiplex immunofluorescence microscopy, ex vivo tumor models, and CRISPR/Cas9 modifications. The ideal candidate holds a strong Master's degree in Life Sciences, possesses excellent fundamentals in molecular and cell biology, and has experience with microscopy and image analysis tools like QuPath or CellProfiler. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to translational research in a supportive, well-equipped laboratory environment with a strong focus on complex kidney pathologies.
