Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientific Doctoral Researcher to join the research group focused on foundational and translational immunology at the University Hospital Freiburg. This fixed-term position is central to a project investigating the mechanisms of immune escape and relapse in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) following allogeneic stem cell transplantation. The role involves utilizing cutting-edge technologies, including Spectral Flow Cytometry, CITE-seq, and CODEX-Imaging, alongside bioinformatics analyses and preclinical mouse models to study leukemia-immune interactions. Day-to-day tasks include performing functional T-cell assays, immune checkpoint analyses, and collaborating with clinical and bioinformatics partners. This is an attractive opportunity to conduct research within a renowned, DKH-funded Max Eder Junior Research Group, offering intensive supervision, interdisciplinary cooperation, and participation in the CRC1479 “OncoEscape” Graduate School, culminating in a scientific dissertation in tumor and transplantation immunology.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Molecular Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field; Requirement to complete a scientific dissertation (PhD)

Experience

  • Professional experience in Cell or Immunobiology
  • Experience utilizing preclinical Mouse Models (ideally)
  • Experience working with high-throughput and single-cell technologies
