Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Instrumentation, Control, and Electrical (ICE/EMSR) Specialist who will ensure the safe and reliable operation of a new, pilot-scale Ammonia Cracker plant in Gelsenkirchen-Scholven. The specialist will be responsible for planning and executing electrical maintenance, performing fault analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies. Key activities include the conceptual design, commissioning, and support of ICE facilities, technical oversight of the process control system, and occasional monitoring of the experimental plant during shift operations. This position requires extensive experience (7+ years) in electrical maintenance within chemical or similar industrial plants, strong knowledge of relevant regulations, and specific expertise in Siemens Simatic PCS-7. The successful candidate will act as the Responsible Electrical Expert, driving process optimization and ensuring the facility's safety and availability as Uniper pursues its goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2040.

Required Skills

Education

Master Craftsman, Technician, or Engineer degree in Electrical, Measurement, Control, and Regulation Technology, or comparable qualification; Additional certification as a Responsible Electrical Expert (Verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft); 30 kV Switching Authorization

Experience

  • 7+ years in electrical maintenance of chemical plants, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Professional experience as a Responsible Electrical Expert (Verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft)
  • Experience with operation of Steam Reformers (Advantageous)
  • Experience with process control systems operation and monitoring
