Job Summary

This critical role involves defining and implementing technology roadmaps for advanced optical and micro-optical systems, aligning them with evolving customer and market demands. The Manager will lead multidisciplinary R&D teams focused on the entire lifecycle of optical components—from design and prototyping to integration and validation, covering elements like lenses, waveguides, and couplers. A core responsibility is acting as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and career development to team members. The position requires deep expertise in micro-optics design, manufacturing techniques (such as Wafer-Level-Optics and Lithography), and advanced simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, Lumerical). Furthermore, the role encompasses project planning, budget management, resource allocation, and ensuring seamless integration and manufacturability by collaborating closely with external partners, suppliers, and foundries. Success in this position requires proven leadership in high-tech optics development and fluency in both German and English.
