Job Summary

This role invites a motivated Biological Technical Assistant or Laboratory Technician to join the junior research group focusing on the (Epi-)Genetic Regulation of Fungal Virulence at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (Leibniz-HKI). The successful candidate will be responsible for essential laboratory operations, including comprehensive organization, stock management, and meticulous data documentation. Day-to-day tasks involve performing routine molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and infection biology techniques crucial for the group's research into microorganisms and novel natural product-based therapeutics. This position offers a stimulating and varied work environment within a highly motivated, international team and a superbly equipped facility. Key requirements include formal training (BTA/MTA) or a degree in Life Sciences, coupled with strong practical experience in the relevant laboratory techniques, reliability, and excellent teamwork skills, contributing to challenging research projects.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Biological Laboratory Technician, or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology), or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience and excellent technical knowledge in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and/or infection biology techniques
  • Experience in independent execution of work
