Job Summary
This role involves leading a team within the Biotechnikum at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (Leibniz-HKI), focusing on the development of novel active ingredients and microbiological products. The successful candidate will conceptualize and implement complete bioprocess chains from micro-liter to cubic-meter scale, collaborating with internal and external partners ranging from fundamental science to large EU consortia. Key responsibilities include developing research questions in bioprocess engineering, mentoring scientific staff, recruiting new partners, and drafting funding applications. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art facilities, contributing to the strategic development of the Biotechnikum and advancing scientific qualifications.
Required Skills
Education
PhD in Bioprocess Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related discipline
Experience
- Proven experience in project management
- Proven experience in third-party funding acquisition
- Proven experience in bioprocess development, including online analytics
- Experience working in an international and interdisciplinary research team
