Job Summary

This role within the Paderborn Building Management (GMP) involves the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of demolition and hazardous substance remediation projects, particularly focusing on large-scale conversion efforts of former British military sites. The engineer will act as the client representative for demolition and remediation trades within municipal construction projects, handling everything from initial concept development, cost estimation, and economic feasibility studies to detailed planning, tendering, construction supervision, and final invoicing. Key responsibilities include coordinating external specialist planners, evaluating contaminant analyses, and ensuring compliance with relevant German technical regulations (VOB, HOAI, TRGS). The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and several years of experience in managing such projects, along with specific certifications related to hazardous substances (TRGS 519, DGUV 101-004). Success in this position requires strong negotiation skills, accountability, and proficiency in relevant planning and office software.

Required Skills

Education

Diploma, Bachelor, or Master in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, or comparable qualification (e.g., certified technician or master craftsman with required further qualifications)

Experience

  • Several years of experience in the planning, execution, construction management, and invoicing of demolition and hazardous substance remediation measures
  • Experience in handling public tendering and awarding rules, especially VOB/A
